CHUDLEIGH defeated Cullompton by two wickets in a low-scoring affair at Kate Brook that could have gone either way.

A home win looked the most likely result after Cullompton had been bowled out for 127 – skipper Brendon Parr making a top score of 40.

Chudleigh were in the driving seat at 74 for three, not quite so comfortable at 86 for five and positively nervous dipping to 110 for six and seven.

Bits and pieces got Chudleigh over the line for a win that lifted them from fifth to third in the table.
