TABLE-topping Teignmouth & Shaldon defeated Ottery St Mary by four wickets to stay out in front of the rest in the C Division East, writes Conrad Sutcliffe.
The line astern behind table-topping Teignmouth & Shaldon (125pts) is Braunton (113), Uplyme (107) and Ottery on 93.
Alex Clements with 68 was Ottery’s top-scoring batter and anchorman in a total of 192 for nine at Hazeldown Oval.
A second-wicket stand of 138 with Jon Triner (57) was as good as it got for Ottery as no one else made more than nine!
Wickets were shared between six T&S bowlers. Ruben Minnaar (2-26) and Ross Abraham (2-32) impressed.
Teignmouth & Shaldon were in the driving seat at 45 for one, then stumbled after losing Josh Couch (25) and Karl Blackburn (11) close together.
Brendan Streather (59) and Alistair Cliff (59no) put T&S on course for victory with a stand of 105 that left 24 to win with five wickets in hand. Game over.
