FOLLOWING the departure of a quartet of first-team players, recently appointed Buckland Athletic manager Matt Cusack is now looking to bolster his new squad.

He told the Mid-Devon Advertiser that there are “Some ready-made replacements incoming very shortly who we’re really excited to get into the club.”

Goalkeeper Adam Seedhouse-Evans, full-back Sam Morcom, centre-back Adam Hill and midfielder Frankie Jones are the four outgoing players in question with the hard-working Teigan Rosenquest seemingly departing too, tweeting on June 5: “All the best for next season [Buckland], great club.”

Cusack continued: “Frankie is in the military and he’s going to be away more permanently so he couldn’t really commit.”

On the other three, all of whom were regular starters under Dan Hart last season, “Those boys would have found it difficult to work within the parameters we’ve got financially.”

It has already been confirmed that Morcom will be heading up the football pyramid, signing for Southern League side Exmouth Town.

Hill meanwhile took to social media to thank the Bucks- he has been a mainstay at the heart of their defence for some time now. “Enjoyed my time at the club immensely, full of good people. Personally the right decision for me to leave. Wish the lads all the best” before confirming that for him, it is “on to the next” one.

The new coach would obviously have only crossed paths with them briefly but he still said, “We wish them well and thank them for their time at the club but they will be moving on to pastures new.”

Based on these comments for Cusack, we can expect confirmation of some new arrivals at Homers Heath very soon with pre-season on the horizon again already!
