WATTS Blake Bearne came close to folding last season as they gave the South Devon Football League their notice to withdraw.

All credit to the club though as they turned it around and were still able to secure a mid-table finish in Division One.

Looking ahead to the new season now and WBB have announced a new managerial duo to take them forward and they “feel this appointment will help guide us back in the right direction.”

Dexter Allsworth and Darren Sowerby are the pairing in question, both with plenty of know-how.

“Following discussions over the last few days, the club were impressed with the passion for coaching, knowledge of local football and hunger to get our club back into the Prem that both men displayed!”

Sowerby was a part of the Newton Abbot Spurs 2nd XI management team, alongside Andy Feaver and Shaun Taylor, that won the Premier title last year.
