A BUSY month at Dainton Park GC concluded with the Seniors Club Championship held over two days.

More than 95 players took part on day one, the weather was good, and the course was in great shape, firm fairways allowing the ball to run and run.

Captain Steve Johnson swept the board, winning both the gross and net competitions.

Steve had two fantastic rounds, starting with a gross 82 (nett 63) before then getting even better, scoring 79 (60n). He beat second-placed Mark Redmore by two shots.

As a result of the two rounds, Steve has had his handicap cut by five shots! Well done Steve.

Congratulations also go to Roger Haines who obtained his first hole in one in over 40 years of playing golf, on the fourth hole, last week.

Meanwhile, the Seniors managed to win all three friendly matches in July against Torquay, Dartmouth and Lyme Regis.
