WHEN the ladies of Teignmouth Golf Club enter the competition to win the Lucas Cup they know they're in for the long haul.

A competition spread across two days, there is plenty of golf to be played. On day one they play 18 holes and then get a second bite of the cherry, heading out again on day two with their best score on each hole going towards the final result.

Sam Rogers led the way and claimed the silverware. A past ladies’ captain, Sam has had a few years off but last year returned to regular golf, and has found form straight away!

After a great first round saw her leading the field, Sam’s second round just clinched it when she bettered her score on five holes to bring her combined score to 70. This equalled Sarah Plunkett's combined score but Sam got the edge on countback. Welcome back and congratulations Sam.
