TEIGNBRIDGE powerlifter Shachar Head had the honour of representing England in the inaugural BDFPA Powerlifting Four Nations Championships, the event taking place in the International Hall at Brentwood Leisure Centre, Essex.
Head was pleased with her first powerlifting competition of the year as she hoisted personal bests in all disciplines, including a squat of 140kg, bench press of 80kg and a massive 165kg deadlift.
The squat was achieved on a fourth lift, given to lifters who are trying to break national records.
Head, from Newton Abbot, was also granted a fourth deadlift but narrowly failed to secure 170kg, pausing slightly before completion.
The total score of 375kg surpassed her personal best total by some margin and gave her a pound-for-pound points score which places her third female in the British rankings.
