Teignbridge Trojans have made a fast start to life, and they are going about it in a unique way...

Founded by friends Barry Whittle and Joe Bramley in August, they have progressed quickly off the field ahead of a proposed start to competitive rugby league action in 2017.

They have launched an innovative fundraising campaign called ‘50-4-50’.

Whittle explains: ‘We’ve just launched our fundraising effort and, essentially, we’re looking for 50 companies, groups or individuals to give us £50 sponsorship.

‘In return, all 50 donators will go into a hat and the first 10 drawn will be given spaces on our new playing kit – so you could be our main sponsor with all the prestige and exposure that comes with it for a fraction of what it costs to sponsor other clubs in the same way.’
