FIVE members of FIT2Run competed in the annual Torbay Half Marathon and 10K on Sunday, September 20.
This is one of the South West’s most iconic events with nearly 3000 participants and over £150,000 raised for charity.
The route boasts stunning coastal views through the English Riviera, and the runners were cheered on by an incredible crowd atmosphere with an estimated 26 000 spectators.
Completing her first competitive 10K was Becka Virgin in an impressive 1:11:40 and joining her from the club was Jayne Campbell-Mosely in 1:11:09 and Becky Matthews in a personal best time of 1:11:02.
Tackling the two-lap half marathon course were Tracey Anders in 2:14:39 and Lidiia Mykolaiv with a personal best of 1:55:13.
The weather was beautiful for spectators, but maybe a little warm from the runners.
However, the organisation of the event was top-notch and the encouragement from the crowd from start to finish helped make it a day to remember. Jayne commented at the end that she ‘loved it and wished she could do it all over again.’ Here’s to the Torbay Half 2027!
