BOVEY Valley Runners have been out on the trails supporting a couple of local favourite races in recent weeks.

Bank Holiday Monday had the traditional Lustleigh 10k, which starts and finishes at the Summer Fair.

Well done to the BVR runners: Paul Fursdon 51:29, Tor Tuckey 59:33, Freddy Sellwood 559:54, Emma Start 1:00:44, Grainne Cole 1:03:41, Sarah Temlett 1:05:43, Howie Bruger 1:06:12, Laura Kilduff 1:13:20, Kirby Mellony 1:21:20 and Jon Evans 1:22:45.

The club was also well represented at the Teignbridge Trotters’ 39th Haytor Heller.

Simon Corley finished in 59:12, followed by Paul Kennedy-Bruyneels 1:05:49, Rob White 1:08:20, Sarah Temlett 1:08:35, Simon Marks 1:10:54 (on his racing debut), Louise Davis 1:11:28 and Howie Bruger 1:12:59.

The Great North Run is the largest half-marathon in the UK and three BVR members made the long journey up north to complete the event.
