THE Chudleigh Road Race is a brilliant local event, part of the Chudleigh Carnival week of events and well supported by both runners and spectators.

A group of Bovey Valley Runners were amongst those to take part. The event has been taken over by the City Runs event team, but they have stuck to the same challenging route.

With the high street being closed to traffic, there is a short loop up around the town before you head back down towards the A38. Taking a left turn, you soon start the long climb up the country lanes before eventually heading back down into town to the finish line.

Bovey Valley Runners finishers were Ian Porter 42:31, Freddy Sellwood 46:22, Rob White 46:49, Mary Cornish 49:35, Carly Phillips 50:17, Jenny Williams 51:43, Howie Bruger 51:59, Beccy Kennedy 52:54.
