ON Saturday, July 12, four intrepid girls from Fit2run completed the 'Blackdown Beauty' off-road, self-navigated circular route around the stunning Blackdown Hills.

They completed 16.5 challenging miles, through fields, woods and lanes, up to The Beacon and the Wellington Monument, returning to the village of Hemyock at the end. There was a total of 1000ft of elevation.

Run by the Honiton Running Club, all proceeds went to Macmillan Cancer.

The girls (left to right in picture), Vanessa Zalman, Lucy Woolley, Michaela Snell and Alison Richards, all had an eventful but fun day out, surviving the extreme heat and some obstacles along the way!
