NINE Fit2Run members travelled to Hampshire for the Maverick South Down trail event with multiple distances from 5K to ultra marathon.
Three members tackled the middle distance of 9 km whilst 6 took on the half marathon, and each distance was run on woodland trails, over downs and through farmland in the countryside around the Queen Elizabeth Country Park near Petersfield.
The Devon club were surprised to find hills to match the home training Dartmoor routes, however the spectacular views from atop the Hampshire downs kept the women distracted from the challenging course.
Mandi Burroughs led the half marathon group over the line and was placed first in her age group with a time of 2:21 followed by the others who all completed between 2.30 and 2.45 mins.
Club chair, Faye Hussey also came first in her age category with a 1:01 time over the 9K course and Sam Radford, in just her second ever event, was delighted to be the first home of the group.
After the event, the women relaxed with a post run kitchen disco!
