DEREK Skinner of the Teignbridge Trotters took part in a 30-mile challenge into the Heartlands of Wales and the source of the River Severn.
An ultra-marathon designed to discover everything mid-Wales has to offer. Starting from the town of Llanidloes, the route takes in the Sarn, Glyndwr's Way, Severn Way and Wye Valley Walk. Heading out towards the breathtaking Clywedog Reservoir, stepping on to the infamous Glyndwr's Way, then onwards to the Heartlands of Wales and the source of the River Severn before heading back to the picturesque town of Llanidloes.
4,514 ft of elevation was one tough route and stunningly beautiful for Derek's 99th marathon. The weather was perfect and warm with a cool breeze- very well organised by Pegasus- and celebrating with a few local beers in Llanidloes in the evening.
Derek’s Strava finish time was six hours and 42 minutes, congratulations on your hard work!
