Newton Spurs' Tim Porter came off the bench to score a remarkable ten minute hat-trick to sink Galmpton 3-1 to send Spurs top of Division One East.

Galmpton took the lead five minutes before half-time with a penalty.

Twenty minutes into the second half it was Spurs' turn to be awarded a penalty but Adam Dyson saw his effort crash against the bar and over.

Newton brought on substitute Tim Porter and in the 80th minute hit the equaliser and then scored another two in the dying minutes of the game to complete his hat-trick.

Having now played two of the favourites for the title, Spurs will be hoping for their third win when they visit Budleigh Salterton tomorrow, kick off at 3pm.MORE SPORT IN OUR DIGITAL EDITION
