TEIGNBRIDGE Titans are celebrating a landmark moment in the club’s history after both their U14 and U16 squads secured qualification to the England Netball National Finals.

The Spartans (U14) and Warriors (U16) delivered dominant performances at the South West Regional Playoffs, overcoming fierce competition to claim their places among the very best netball squads in the country.

With both teams finishing in the top two of their respective round-robin tournaments, Teignbridge Titans will now proudly represent Devon on the national stage in May. TTNC has proudly qualified to nationals every season since 2017 but this is only the third time that they have successfully qualified both age groups in a single season.

The U14 Spartans have impressed all season with their high-energy style and team-first attitude. Heading into the playoffs, they knew they’d need to dig deep against some of the best teams in the region. And dig deep they did with a everything on the line; final game which they won by a single goal in the dying seconds of the match!

Their game management and ability to lift under pressure saw them come through one of the tightest U14 groups in recent history.

Coach Chantelle Cox reflected on the campaign, “The girls were absolutely incredible. Every single one of them played their part, and they showed resilience and unity to get over the line. They earned this moment.”

The U16 Warriors entered their regional playoffs with a sense of quiet belief. A well-balanced side with depth across the court. They came in with the aim to qualify as they did two seasons prior at U14 level.

They played every game with pride and passion knowing this was their final junior netball season and even before they played the final match they had done enough to secure National qualification.

S&C Coach Steve Petrie praised the team’s spirit, “What impressed me most was their resilience under pressure. They came out today and put out some fantastic netball they can be proud of.”

The achievement of both squads has electrified the entire Teignbridge Titans community. Families, volunteers, and supporters flooded social media with congratulations as news of the double qualification spread.

Club Chair Shaun Cox shared their pride: “To have two teams qualify for Nationals is incredible. It’s a testament to the hard work of our players, coaches, and everyone behind the scenes. We’ve built something really special here — and the whole club will be cheering our Spartans and Warriors on as they take the next step.”

With Nationals now just weeks away, both teams will ramp up their training and focus on preparation. For the players, it’s a dream come true — and a chance to showcase their skills on the biggest youth netball stage in the country. The U16s finals are in Nottingham on May 3 and 4 and for the U14s, they go to Sheffield on May 17 and 18.
