She was joined by family and friends for the momentous occasion and enjoyed the traditional telegram from the Queen as part of the fun.
Edith – pictured left with family and friends at her party – was born and raised in Dawlish, and lived in Brook Street virtually for all her life, 64 of those years in the same house.
Her first job was as a maid at the Manor House, where she worked for the then owners the Jackson family.
She recalled many parties there during World War I with American soldiers.
Sweeping the chimneys was one of her main tasks, she remembered.
She first met her husband – he died in the l970s – when she was walking home from her job as a waitress at the richmond Hotel, which was by the railway station.
Apparently it was love at first sight for him, he told one of Edith's friends.
Edith gained her title Queen of Brook Street at a Brook Street party held on Jubilee Sunday last year marking Her Majesty's 50 years' reign. Residents made her a crown and performed a coronation ceremony for her.
