John Tibbs, deputy chairman/skills coordinator Exeter & Torbay Advanced Motorists of Devon House Drive, Bovey Tracey, writes:

Regarding the article in the Advertiser: as a resident of Bovey Tracey, I also appreciate Mr Beecher's concerns over the flagrant ignoring of the 30mph limit along Le Molay Littry Way.

Unfortunately I feel that placing repeater signs along the road would have little effect. the drivers and motorcyclists who ignore the limit sign at the entrance to Bovey would also ignore those.

Driver education would help. how many of us have engaged in any further driver training since passing the L-test – unless having had to attend a speed awareness course?

There are further clues along the road in question to confirm the speed limit – street lighting, it is a built-up area, and there are no de-restriction limit signs on the many side roads that go off the the main road.
