A WOMAN known to be involved in drug supply was arrested after a police chase in Bovey Tracey.
Eagle-eyed officers with the Ashburton and Chudleigh Policing Team spotted the woman, who is known to be involved in the supply of controlled drugs, driving a vehicle near the town last weekend.
And upon realising she was being followed by police, the woman chose not to stop.
With support from the Roads Policing Team, the vehicle was safely brought to a halt, but during the process, the driver attempted to dispose of a quantity of drugs by throwing them out the window.
A spokesperson for the Ashburton and Chudleigh Policing Team said: ‘Unfortunately for her, our officers are particularly good at finding things.
‘The drugs were quickly located and seized along with a further amount of controlled drugs located in the vehicle.
‘The driver was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop, possession of controlled drugs and drug driving.
‘The female has since been charged and remanded to court, spending the whole weekend in custody.
‘Let this serve as a reminder: throwing drugs out of a window is not an effective escape plan. We will continue to take firm action against those involved in drug-related activity.
‘This behaviour will not be tolerated in our communities’.
