A MOPED was destroyed after catching fire in the garden of a property in Buckfastleigh last night.

Firefighters from the town arrived at the scene in Glebelands to find the machine well alight.

A hosereel jet was used to extinguish the blaze just before 10pm.

A fire spokesman said 70 per cent of the bike was damaged.

The cause of the fire was accidental.
