A CAR was severely damaged in a fire on the old A38 at Bickington yesterday evening (Thursday).
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘One fire appliance from Ashburton attended a vehicle on fire which was well alight on arrival of crews.
‘Two breathing apparatus sets and one hose reel jet were used to put the fire out.
‘The cause was deemed as accidental ignition and the vehicle was severely damaged.’
The fire was reported at 6.55pm.
