An inmate at Channings Wood prison has admitted dealing in psycho-active substances while behind bars.
James Smith, aged 31, will be sentenced at Exeter Crown Court later this month for possessing three different types of drugs which were previously known as legal highs.
He has also admitted possessing a mobile phone on two different occasions.
Smith, who is currently at Channings Wood, near Newton Abbot, admitted possession with intent to supply of a new psychoactive substance and a class C drug at the prison on November 21, 2016.
He also admitted possession of a class B form of synthetic cannabis on February 14, 2017, and possession of mobile phones on both dates.
Smith refused to leave his cell to attend a scheduled sentencing hearing and the case was adjourned until February 8 be Recorder Mr Llewellyn Sellick so he can appear by video link.
