POLICE in Buckfastleigh are continuing their hunt for a ‘dangerous’ motorcyclist reported to have been riding at speeds of up to 100mph.
Several reports have been received over the last few weeks of a blue Suzuki motorbike being ridden ‘at speed’ between Buckfastleigh and Ashburton.
One witness reported seeing the bike being ridden at an estimated speed of about 100mph in a 60mph zone.
While officers have been unable to catch the biker, the owner of the bike has been issued with a section 59 anti-social behaviour warning. This means if police do find him riding in such a way again, they can seize the bike.
A police spokesman said: ‘We have been unable to catch him red handed yet but he has been issued with a section 59 anti-social behavior warning.
‘It is the first step we have to take.
‘If there are any other reports then the bike can be seized.
‘We will continue to keep an eye out for him.
‘We would like to stop this rider so if you witness this, give us a call on 999 straight away, if it is safe to do so.
‘If you can’t call straight away but you manage to get the registration send us a private message as your evidence could help us with an anti-social behaviour order.’
