TRAFFIC travelling along the A380 was delayed on Friday evening after a car left the road and crashed into a tree.

Police and fire crews were called to the stretch of road leading to the Penn Inn roundabout just before 4pm.

Upon arrival everyone involved were out of the vehicle so the crews set about making the scene safe.

The police reported that the A380 southbound was partially blocked and there was slow traffic as a result.

Ambulance crews later revealed that one person had been taken to Torbay Hospital with facial injuries.
