FIREFIGHTERS were called to a property in the Bradley Barton area of Newton Abbot where an elderly woman fell over and could not get back on her feet.

A neighbour with a house key came to the rescue in Spring Close before there was a need for the emergency services to consider forcing entry.

The domestic drama was played out just after 11am on Monday.

The woman was checked over at the scene by paramedics.
