A TODDLER was rescued by firefighters after getting his finger stuck in a kitchen door at the family home in Kingsteignton.
The tearful two-year-old tot was comforted afterwards with the treat of sitting in the fire appliance which attended the incident in Gestridge Road.
The 999 call was made at 9am on Saturday after the youngster contrived to get his finger jammed in a closing door.
Firefighters used a metal bar to lever the door sufficiently for the youngster to release his swollen finger.
A fire spokesman said afterwards: ‘He was tearful at the time. But he was all right after he had a look around the engine.’
