FIREFIGHTERS responded to a 999 shout in Ashburton yesterday after a chimney fire broke out.

The Buckfastleigh crews were sent to the blaze involving a woodburning stove at Memory Cross in the town just after 3pm.

Using chimney gear, the team managed to put the fire out.
