FOUR fire crews dealt with a blaze at a Buckfastleigh quarry over the weekend.
Pumps from the town, together with ones from Ashburton and Newton Abbot and a command unit vehicle from Totnes, attended the incident in Buckfast Road just after 9.30am on Saturday.
The alarm was raised when smoke was seen coming from a pump house. Gas stored at the site as not affected.
Firefighters in breathing gear used a hosereel jet and positive pressure fan to deal with the incident.
Police closed off the road for the duration of the emergency at the Flogas UK site.
The gas cylinder stockists were not available for comment today.
A fire spokesman said the cause of the fire was accidental.
