VOLUNTEERS of Teignmouth’s RNLI lifeboat answered their first call out of the year to help recover a vessel which had broken from its moorings.

The team were on a routine practice when they were diverted to the scene on the River Teign.

The vessel had broken free from its mooring on the river during high winds on Sunday February 6.

It was left drifting along the river and in danger of damaging other craft.

The Two Annes, Teignmouth’s Atlantic 85 lifeboat was diverted to the location and proceeded to take it under tow to a vacant mooring on the river where it was then secured.

The incident was the first for newest trainee crew member Hector Anderson.

The crew then resumed their routine practice exercise before returning back to the boathouse.
