A man from Longdown has admitted attacking a former friend in an argument about money.

Russell Mills, aged 59, of Marks Farm, Longdown, near Exeter, pleaded guilty at Exeter Crown Court to causing actual bodily harm to Rageb Bousaida in an assault on June 17, 2015.

Mr Gordon Richings, prosecuting, said the incident had been captured on CCTV and Mr Bousaida had lost four teeth as a result of being punched.

He said evidence from a dentist showed the level of injury meant the case was properly described as actual bodily harm, rather than a less serious assault.

Mr Warren Robinson, said Mills there was a background to the incident which did not amount to physical provocation.

He said:"My client says there was some tension between the two over money, which had been brewing and which had destroyed what had previously been a friendship."

Recorder Mr Donald Tait adjourned the case for a probation report and released Mills on bail.
