A MAN in his 50s suffered head injuries after an alleged assault in Bovey Tracey at the weekend.

The casualty was taken by ambulance for treatment at Torbay Hospital after the incident in the town late on Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to Town Hall Place at 11.30pm after a man had been ejected from the nearby Bell Inn.

An ambulance crew was called to the same location half-an-hour later.

Police said on Monday they were still making inquiries to locate a man wanted in connection with the attack.
