A MOTORIST was injured when his Nissan car smashed through a fence and ended up in a ditch in Kingsteignton.

The single vehicle accident happened on the Newton Road late on Saturday night.

The 20-year-old driver from Paignton was taken by ambulance to Torbay Hospital for treatment to minor cuts to the head. A passenger was not hurt.

The alarm was raised just after 11.30pm
