Fire Control received a call for help from the police on the A38 Eastbound Linhay to Goodstone Cross, near Ashburton, at 1.30pm.
One fire engine from Ashburton, one from Buckfastleigh and one from Bovey Tracey were sent to the location.
A spokesperson for the Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a road traffic collision involving three vehicles, with one person trapped in one of the vehicles.
‘This was a road traffic collision involving a large goods vehicle in collision with two other vehicles.
‘Fire crews rescued one casualty with suspected neck injuries by using hydraulic rescue equipment.
‘The casualty was handed over to the ambulance team and duty of care was left with the police.’
