Two fire crews from Newton Abbot and Torquay tackled a fire in Ipplepen in the early hours of this morning (Thursday, May 13) following a member of the public reporting an outbuilding on fire.

Arriving at the location in Totnes Road just before 12.45am the Incident Commander confirmed that a store shed containing logs and kindling was well alight and got crews to work extinguishing the fire using breathing apparatus and hose reel jets. The water bowser from Torquay station was also requested to attend the scene.

The fire, which is believed to have been started deliberately, completely destroyed the building.
