A date has been set for the sentence of a mentally ill Kingsteignton man who has admitted raping a woman during an attack in Honiton.
Scott Wilson has admitted two counts of rape but is likely to be sent to a psychiatric unit rather than jail because of his condition.
His case at Exeter Crown Court was adjourned to allow time for two doctors to finalise the reports which are necessary before a judge can make a hospital order.
The delay will also enable Langdon Hospital in Dawlish to confirm a bed is available to treat Wilson when the case returns for sentence in August.
Wilson, aged 25, of Honeymead Road, Kingsteignton, admitted two counts of rape, possession of a knife and personal possession of amphetamine and cannabis. All the offences took place in Honiton in March 2016.
Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, adjourned his case and remanded himinto the custody of the hospital. Wilson appeared by video link from Langdon and is expected to do so again at the sentencing hearing.
