A RIDE on mower caught fire in Holne yesterday afternoon (Sunday).

One fire appliance From Ashburton dealt with the lawnmower that had caught fire in a paddock just before 5pm.

A Fire Control spokesperson said: ‘Crews arrived on scene and used one scotty backpack and buckets of water to put out the fire, which suffered severe damage.

‘The cause of the fire was accidental.’
