A CHUDLEIGH dog owner feared her pet had been killed when it was attacked twice by another dog during a walk on Dartmoor.

Lara Tucker says a Staffordshire bull terrier cross was out of control, leaving six-year-old cocker spaniel cross Meg with a series of puncture wounds.

She says the owner could not control the dog and fears it could attack again.

The vet who treated Meg believes wounds in her neck suggest the rogue dog had its prey between its jaws and says she is lucky to have survived the vicious attack.

As well as two large puncture wounds to either side of her neck, Meg sustained further puncture wounds to her thigh, three bite marks to one ear which is bruised and swollen and the hair has been ripped off and wounds to her groin area.
