The sentence of a man who has admitted cannabis-growing has been delayed after a co defendant denied the same charges.

Simon Redgrave, aged 27, of Longford Lane, Kingsteignton, has admitted production of cannabis and possession of three kilos of the drug with intent to supply.

Co-defendant Andrew Gillespie, aged 31, of Southdown Avenue, Brixham, denies being concerned in the supply of cannabis between January and May last year, production of 25 plants on May 11, and possessing cannabis with intent to supply on the same day.

Judge Geoffrey Mercer, QC, adjourned his case for a trial in April and adjourned Redgrave’s sentence until the end of the trial.

Gillespie is alleged to have been found with cannabis plants growing in his home in Brixham after drugs were seized from a van which was stopped near Newton Abbot.
