A DESPERATE teenager rang 999 after finding himself trapped in a flat in Kingsteignton today.
He called in firefighters to free him after he had no key to get out of a family member’s property in River Close this morning.
A crew from Newton Abbot arrived and clambered up an extension ladder and through a window to reach the stranded youngster who was late for school after being locked in for a few hours.
In desperation, after sending an SOS to family members, he alerted the brigade to get him out of his fix.
But before firefighters could lead him to safety, a family member with a key turned up to release him.
A fire spokesman said: ‘He could not get out without a key. He was fine afterwards.’
The alarm was raised just before midday.
