TWO people were rescued by firefighters after a car crashed into lift doors on the lower ground floor of Teignmouth’s Waitrose store this afternoon.

The adults in the lift were not hurt in the accident which happened at the Lower Brook Street store just before 3.30pm.

Hand tools were used by the crews to free the trapped duo.
