DRIVERS are being urged to take care not to leave valuables on show after thieves broke into a car in Teignmouth.

The nearside window of a white Fiat 500 was smashed while it was parked in Fourth Avenue and a USB lead was taken from inside the vehicle.

A police spokesman said: ‘Please be vigilant, remove all items of value and do not leave anything on display that might attract an opportunist thief.’

The incident happened sometime between 6.30pm on Monday, June 27 and 7.20am on Tuesday, June 28.

The car had been left secure.
