Retailers in Teignmouth have unleashed their artistic talents to create stunning displays for the town’s annual Christmas window competition.
Teignmouth Town Council congratulated traders and businesses for transforming the town centre’s windows into ‘stunning festive showcases’ and embracing their creativity and festive cheer.
The winning display was created by The Refill and Deli’ with its mini gingerbread Teignmouth design capturing the heart of the independent judge.
Hand-painted Christmas trees that were like ‘stepping into a Christmas wonderland’, in the window of Joanna’s earned the café second place.

Third prize went to funeral directors JH Way Funeral Services for a cosy fireplace scene that recreated ‘the festive homely feeling with bright colours’.
‘It was very festive seeing Teignmouth decorate their shop windows, adding that extra Christmas magic to the town,’ commented Teignmouth mayor councillor Cate Williams.
‘From twinkling lights to imaginative winter wonderlands, each display brought joy and warmth to our town, making it a truly magical experience for all,’ she added. ‘The competition showcased not just artistic talent but also the collaborative spirit that defines our community.’
Teignmouth Town Council extended its thanks to the Teignmouth Bakehouse, Teignmouth Pavilions and Flavour Burst for their generous donations of prizes.
Businesses around Teignmouth have made a real effort to promote the town as a Christmas shopping destination. Last month, artist and gallery owner Laura Wall created a reel to showcase businesses’ best-selling products. As well as the official Christmas light switch on at the end of November, businesses and community groups collaborated to run an additional festive market and lantern parade with entertainment and a Santa’s grotto on the first Saturday of December.
