POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 41-year-old man was allegedly assaulted in Newton Abbot town centre on Saturday.
At around 1.30pm two youths - aged 14 and 15 - are alleged to have approached the man from behind and punched him before fleeing from the Market Square.
The victim gave chase before officers managed to detain the 14-year-old - who was then arrested on suspicion of actual bodily harm.
He has since been released from custody pending further inquiries.
The 15-year-old is being sought after by police.
