WITH her new book described as a ‘perfect Mother’s Day present’, Newton Abbot historian and author Rosemary Griggs has a book signing and charity event lined up.

Her novel A Woman of Noble Wit is featured in this month’s Devon Life Magazine in Six Reads for March,

Rosemary says: ‘It’s emphasised that my story of a Devon mother – the mother of Sir Walter Raleigh – would make a perfect Mother’s day gift.

‘I’m at W H Smith for another book signing on March 19 from 10.30am to 1pm,’ says Rosemary who likes to dress as her characters and will be signing copies of A Woman Noble Wit.

You’ll find lots of places you know in this story of Sir Walter Raleigh’s mother. A recent reviewer described it as ‘A delightfully engaging read. Griggs has brought Katherine Raleigh from the shadows of her famous son’s fame and shined a light on her story.’

She is also involved in a charity event in June with Rotary Newton Abbot to raise funds for Rotary Foundation which has supported many good causes around Newton over the years.

If you haven’t yet seen one Rosemary’s appearances all over the West Country as her alter ego ‘the Lady Katherine’ you might want to save June 9 in your diary.

In a special charity appearance to raise funds for Rotary Newton Abbot you can join Rosemary for an evening of Tudor entertainment at The Bushell Theatre.

More details will be available soon.
