A VOLVO was stopped on the A38 last night, after police suspected the driver was dealing drugs under an expired provisional licence.

The blue car was stopped on the side of the dual carriageway as part of a sting mission on Haldon Hill, on the way down to Exeter.

The driver was then was tested for alcohol and drugs, to which officers found that they were positive for cocaine.

The vehicle was then seized and the driver in custody.

The incident was reported on the police's 'No Excuses' Twitter page. The post read: 'Intel suggested the driver of this vehicle held an expired provisional licence and was supplying drugs. It was stung on Haldon Hill resulting in the vehicle being stopped.

'The driver was who we expected, tested positive for cocaine, now in custody, vehicle seized.'
