A MYSTERY philanthropist from Teignmouth has stepped in again to ensure families across Teignbridge who are facing tough times will receive some Christmas cheer.
He is funding local charity Hits (Homeless in Teignbridge Support) to provide festive hampers.
The benefactor, who wants to remain anoymous, already provides a small grant scheme, called the Incredible Fund for Teignmouth, Bishopsteignton and Shaldon, which helps not-for-profit groups who cannnot access traditional grant funding.
The fund is run though Teignbridge Community and Volunatary Services.
Chairman of Hits, David Cox said: ‘We are absolutely delighted with this very generous offer.
‘It really does make a difference. Last year we received some moving letters from teachers about the impact of the Christmas hampers.’
Hits works with homeless people and those in crisis and need throughout Teignbridge. People it has helped include the homeless, victims of domestic violence, ex-service personnel, the elderly, families in poverty, disabled people, ex-offenders, and many others.
