A PLANNING application seeking permission for a Timpson pod at a Dawlish supermarket has been withdrawn.
The Exeter Road Sainsbury’s had sought to erect a small retail concession pod in its carpark.
But 25/00777/FUL was formally withdrawn yesterday, Monday, June 30.
It comes after more than 100 objections were lodged against the application, including from Dawlish Conservative Club and local businesses man Ben Elliot, who owns Be Repaired.
At the time, Ben, with the help of local councillor Rosie Dawson, launched a campaign to save his shop, saying that the knock on effect of the pod would be ‘extremely detrimental’ to the town.
Sainsbury’s submitted its application to Teignbridge District Council (TDC) at the beginning of May.
