PLANNERS have given permission for a building in Teignmouth to be converted into flats.
Teignbridge Council has granted Listed Building Consent for numbers 15 and 16 Barnpark Terrace, paving the way for the properties to be converted into ten, self-contained flats.
The application, reference 26/00372/LBC, was a re-submission of an application approved in 2011, with that consent having since expired.
The approved scheme includes a series of internal alterations, new access doorways, the removal of a redundant lift shaft and alterations to windows.
Numbers 15 and 16 Barnpark Terrace will be brought into line with the rest of the terrace, with one flat on each floor.
According to the heritage statement submitted with the application, the works will ‘return the houses to a more original arrangement’.
The terrace has a long history, having once comprised a dozen houses and a hotel.
The permission requires the approved works to begin within three years of the date of consent.
