Dawlish & Teignmouth 314-6 Clyst Honiton 244-7 D&T secure winning draw
DAWLISH & Teignmouth, joint leaders with Barnstaple until two weeks ago, probably expected an easy time of it away to bottom club Clyst Honiton – especially after racking up 314-6. But D&T never looked like bowling the home side out and couldn't do much to stop Clyst making 244-7 in reply. Jamie Burton (86), Billy Alcoock (61), Dave Jarrad (40) and Alex Blest (43 not out) were all among the runs for D&T. Chris Holmes (3-59) and Clinton Lewis (2-65) were the main wicket takers for the Villagers When Clyst batted, skipper Graham Trude top-scored with 64. Lewis completed a fine afternoon's work with 37 and Holmes hit an unbeaten 25 to go with his earlier wickets. Sri Lankan Jay Mangala chipped in with an unbeaten 25 and Matt Fitt scored 24 in the home side's reply.
