POPULAR Ness Cove, Shaldon, has reopened after the completion of work to repair a cliff fall. ?
?Engineers were on site daily to clear rubble and patch up the cliff face, after the beach suffered a landslip on Boxing Day. ?
?The fall happened after a period of heavy rain and affected the Smugglers' Tunnel access steps.
Contractors cleared soil, regraded the bank and put in place a section of rock netting to ensure the cliff face stays as safe as possible. ??Cllr Kevin Lake, Teignbridge spokesman for environmental services, said: 'We're really pleased. It's a Quality Coast Award winning beach, and a popular attraction, both in and out of season.'
